Dream A Little Dream ... |
01/09/03 - PS I love you … I can't believe I received three pieces of mail in the same day from the auto insurance company. All were sent on the same day. All were sent to the same address, the wrong address, my old address! Hopefully this is taken care of now since I sent yet another change of address to the middleman the other day, the final resort. Its weird how dealing with the actual provider seems ineffectual. In fact, it's darn right perplexing! Two of the pieces of mail were amendments. Amendment 1 and Amendment 2, both dated and mailed on the same day. What does it all mean? And, why do we need amendments when the renewal was only received a couple of weeks ago, to the wrong address as well? Now, here I sit with a three-inch stack of correspondence, amended and clueless. So, with this said, how is one to take anything at face value? I'm thinking if I did that, I would be jumping to conclusions. I guess I can't help but get into trust issues. I know you can't trust anybody or anything, and it's even more difficult to put your trust in anybody, but I'm a slow learner, I still do. I go through all sorts of stress just dealing with that insurance bill, having money put aside, timing the actual mailing of the payment so as not to be late, but not to overdraw my account either. I'm careful and I'm concerned. And then THEY go and fuck up … three times? Very interesting … as I read these thoughts over I'm wondering what's really bothering me? I look up the word integrity on my handy electronic Merriam-Webster, a much appreciated birthday gift from Dr. Jones. 1. Adherence to a code of values. 2. Incorruptibility. There, that's what's bothering me. I wish that word didn't come up, but it did … corrupt (to make evil). If it weren't such a dreary, dismal day … I would probably come up with some way to turn all these thoughts into something inspirational. Instead, I'm just going to leave it at the classic battle between good and evil. However, I'm not finished writing yet, there could be an amended version or two on the way … stay tuned. |
