Spring Of My Soul Branches baron from the exhaustion of enduring Quietly absorbing freedom birthing itself Spiritually renewing Shedding Winter deadness Energy flowing even in stillness No fear of smothering from a protective snow Shielding emergence Frost only feigns hardness ... will melt away Rains rescue, cleanse, nourish Rhythmically lulling and at once Awakening, refreshing tenderly ... Arousing the Spring of my soul. - Cathy Hanlon 3/00 |

Moving Moving on to fresh beginnings Packing up the old for new First month, last month, fat deposit Paying rent for another's view Packing up the old for new Dumping clutter used and worn Paying rent for another's view Opening up to changing norms Dumping clutter used and worn Parting ways from expectations Opening up to changing norms Change will bring new fascinations Parting ways from expectations First month, last month, fat deposit Change will bring new fascinations Moving on to fresh beginnings - Cathy Hanlon 07/02 |
Discovery The walk was over and Not thinking much about it I was leaving when I noticed, but I just walked by Pondering future thoughts Wondering when I'd next Be back, feeling a little sorry When I noticed it was Calling to me and who was I not to answer and why was I surprised to see it was perfect No missing pieces, the perfect Pine cone shape, mossy umber Color and smell of fresh cut wood. I had discovered a treasure To take with me to remind me How wonderful they were, Those moments, and Who was I not to notice That moments are treasures too, Memories are their shape No missing pieces Perfect. -Cathy Hanlon 01/01 |
This is Just to Say I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox and which you were probably saving for breakfast Forgive me they were delicious so sweet and so cold, William Carlos Williams |
