Dream A Little Dream ...

10/10/02 -  Looking for inspiration ... Yoo Hoo! Where are you? Well, I guess it would help if I got out and did a little searching for it. I guess it’s not going to come knocking
on my door ... Not this week anyway. I usually don’t have much trouble getting
inspired. I’ve been told I can make an ordinary event sound exciting. Maybe I’m
losing my touch.

But then again, what’s wrong with ho hum? As long as it’s just a little ho hum and
doesn’t last too long. Actually, the week felt somewhat intense to me earlier. I
should be very grateful that it’s ebbed down to ho hum. I heard on the radio
today that Gracie Slick (Jefferson Airplane) is 63 years old. She’s older than I
thought she was. Grateful Don, the radio guy, was reading an excerpt from some
interview she did. She said she never liked orgies.
Don’t you want some body to
love?
I think she’s sold out. She’s living some sort of socialite life around here
somewhere. Ho Hum, it doesn’t really matter now, does it? But when I’ve heard
her lately she seems to talk about the good old days like they are gone forever.
And, like maybe they weren’t so good. I don’t feel that way. I will never forget. I
try to keep the good times with me. What else have you got anyway? Oh, guess
who I saw on Letterman last night? The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band! They looked like
they were 63 too!

So, OK, maybe the ho hum is turning to mellow. The week is coming to an end.
The weather is cooling. The changes are subtle. I will make a point of looking for
small signs to inspire me. It’s all in the attitude.

I just hope this isn’t ... The calm before the storm.
