Telstar continued

Here's a Polaroid photo I just ran across in the archives. It explains something that I didn't really remember for sure. The Telstar is in it gold base coat and the Gold Nugget is completed. So that means the Telstar was really built after the Gold Nugget.

In 1963 I took Polaroid photos of the building steps. These are the first and last plus an overlaid version to see the altered wheelbase. The Chevy has a 119 inch base and the Telstar has a 91 inch base. The hood was used for the front pan and the roof was used for the bubble backing.
