Clone the Past: IMCM program
Telstar continued
The hood is flipped over and rotated. This casues a problem for the mockup as it needs two right hood halves. So I used the the right half of a '59 Monogram Chevy which is much easier to find.
This mockup will show 'how' it was built. It shows the Plastic-Wood and the 20 gauge coil wire. I'll send the mockup to Mitch Capps for his aid. The roof is used for the back of the bubble top.
I'm building a mockup to help the clone the past program for the International Model Car Museum. The switch is that it's half a mockup, the right half is the original El Camino and the left is the TelStar. The surface of the vertical styrene slab is exactly at the center of the model.
The front wire is added. I have found that it's harder to duplicate something than to just make it up ! This is a very accurate recreation.
The rest will be wire and putty. I may finish small areas of the mockup. This is 18 gage wire. Slightly heavier than original.
I finally found 20gage plastic coated wire ! The last added wire 11/22/2006
A little more Plasticwood for the mail but still shows the construction method.
