I am starting to make a second version and began by separating the chassis and body. I can not duplicate the original part for part but will be close. It involves too many kits for all the nonsense chrome added to it. |
I've decided to make the body totally from scratch since the only surface that's original is the rim of the pickup bed. No sense in wrecking yet another '60 El Camino. |

The tubs came from an old trailer and the cross bar is just temporary. The bed will be the foundation for the body rather than the other way around. |
This restoration was needed on the trailer fender. |

After trimming the tubs to size and mounting them I trimmed out the sides. |
