Dot and I met in 1955 at Pismo Beach, California in the roller skating rink. The only name I remember from this picture is Helen Moore on my right. The other two were regular skaters but I just don't remember their names.
I have looked and just can't find a picture of Dot skating in Pismo Beach. Maybe her sister will send one later and I will put it in here. It was an hours drive from Cambria Air Force Station to Pismo Beach but we managed to skate there every weekend.
We were married in the local judge's office and I don't remember any pictures taken at the time. We did managed to have three children in the early years of being together. Baby pictures all look alike to me so here is one taken when they were a bit older. We had just gotten back from Japan. Jewel is on the left, Donnie kneeling behind Dot with the hooker blonde hair, and Larry on the right.
This spot is reserved for a picture of Donnie the oldest and his wife Kathy. I have one someplace but darned if I can find it right now. Grrrrrr !!!!!!
Donnie and Kathy picture - Coming Soon at a theater near you !!!!!!!
Larry, the youngest boy, and his first wife Kim, are pictured here in one of their happier moments. Their oldest child is Christy and she just graduated from business college. The two boys, Richard and LD live in Alaska with their mother. Larry is a plasterer and lives in Colorado.
Jewel is the youngest of the children. She is pictured here with her ex-husband Gilbert and the two children. Joshua is the oldest and will attend Witworth College in Agust on an academic and football scholarship. Ashley is 16 years old and lives in Oregon with her father.
I don't remember how much Dot had won but it rated us a free picture at the Lady Luck in Las Vegas. Dot says it was $300.00 and we sure were happy to get the money. This was our first trip and was sort of the honeymoon. When we got married we didn't have much money, $137.10 every two weeks plus a housing allowance that didn't pay the rent.
