Unfortunately I have very few pictures of Dot's family. Her mom and dad have passed away. She has three sisters and two brothers. Dot talked to her older sister and asked her to send pictures of the family so I can include them here. In the meantime I will put in what I do have.

dotsdad.jpg Elmer Hawley, Dot's dad, was a big man, huge as a matter of fact. An American Indian, he stood 6'6" and lived most of his life in the Mojave desert. Elmer was 81 years old when he passed away in 1979. The Alcan Highway was one of the projects he worked on as a heavy equipment operator and you couldn't find a better mechanic anywhere. Loved his beer and was a great story teller.
When I went to California for the first time in 1955 as a young Air Force Airman I met this young lady. She was all of 15 and was roller skating in the Pismo Beach Roller Drome. This is the lady I have been with now for 42 years as of December 2nd. She says I have to stay until I get it right. dot1955.jpg
dot1959.jpg Three years later, 1958, and Dot hadn't changed much, the hair style just a bit. In December she turned the lights down low, leaned over and whispered in my ear. I said, "The hell you are!" Judge Fanukin married us in his office and we have been together ever since.
Of course I didn't complain to much! I mean after all she did have all the right things. And they were sure in the right places. Most of them are still there today, a bit larger perhaps, but heck, I am still not complaining. orientaldress.jpg
dotdeer.jpg Early one morning while camping at Lopez Lake in California I heard some noise behind the camp site. Looking out the window, there she is, hand feeding a wild deer doe. Now you know why I hunt only with a camera!
And she is just as good with the grandchildren. Nothing is silly with her even if she doesn't have a bathing suit or the pool isn't deep enugh. When the granson, Joshua, wanted grammy to go swimming with him she was the first in the pool. gramjosh.jpg
dotbingo.jpg Dot has quit smoking but still loves to play bingo. Here she is at the Elks Lodge in California. Now that we are in Idaho and she learned how to use the computer you can generally find her playing bingo at night with one of the on-line bingo sites. And she wins money! Real U.S. dollars paid by check within a week of winning a game.
And wouldn't you know it, she learned to fish. I gave her my pole, baited the hook, and cast it into the lake. Not only did she catch this one but four others. Guess who went home skunked? And then to top it all off I had to clean the darn things and cook them on the BBQ grill for dinner. dotfish.jpg
