OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD !

THE STORY SO FAR
Approximatly at the start of 2000 the Lord called us to start researching the area in regards to possible spiritual problem sites. During the first throws of invetigations one of the churches intercessors brought a word from the Lord saying that we were to "fight or die" We went on to find that a huge battle had been fought on ground surrounding a particular part of the area in 937 AD. So the intercessors went into action. In early April it was suggested by an American intercessor that the Lord may be wanting to hold a 24 hour worship/prayer event in Driffield similar to one that was being held in their area. Two of our own people went to USA to join in with their event. Whilst there the Lord reminded one of them of the place where the intercessors in Driffield had been praying. On returning to England, after a prayer conference another member of the church had a vision of a hangar. Sharing this with the leadership there was confirmation when one of the leaders said that they had actually seen the barracks when they first prayed a "what venue Lord" weeks beforehand. The hangar was situated near to the site of the Battle. About 6 weeks ago we set off on our adventure of applying to the Government officials for permission to use the hangar.
The first response was that the Government officials were afraid of "fire breaking out" and therefore said no. But we had heard the word to "go" so we carried on praying and asking many top ranking officials. They eventually told us that the only next stop was members of the British Parliament. John Townend, our Member of Parliament took up the battle with us and challenged the authorities decision. Still they said no, although many other officials were saying that there was no reason for them to say no. So we decided to send the prayer request out on the internet, trusting our faithful Lord.
On Saturday the 29th July, a member of the church realised that the date the elders had chosen for the start of the 24 hour event was actually the Battle of Britain day. After much excitement over this and further investigation on the net a statement regarding the battle was found stating "this was the only battle that was ever fought solely in the air" and we know that our battle is against principalities and powers that are in the air. Also one of Winston Churchill's statements during the time was the the British had a choice to "conquer or die" which was the word the Lord had given us 6 months ago.
On Sunday 30th July 2000, one of our leaders Godfrey Middlewood called the church to fast on Tuesday 1st August. He stated quite loudly "Thus far and no further" on Tuesday morning we had yet another detailed letter from the government department saying ...NO... but we would not give up and the intercessors were phoned to pray harder and people went into action speaking to the Government officials, the member of parliament also spoke very strongly on our behalf that day. By 2.11pm there was an answerphone message from the Goverment official saying "your prayers have been answered, we are letting you have the hangar" They later told us that they were letting us have it free of charge!
We are in awe of what our Lord did during this 24 hour event, and you can read about it in the Hangar Newsletter. We know that He has called us to a battle to take back our land. Please continue to join us in prayer towards this aim, under His Mighty hand.
