Taken on a near perfect evening at sunset, this serves as a reminder to me that there can be such clarity and purity in this world. Photographed with a digital camera at 2400x1800 pixels.

This was taken on the summit of Mt. Mitchell in an acid fog---the kind of fog that is contributing to the decline of the frazier firs throughout the Appalachian mountain chain. I could almost imagine the pain this tree experiences
