MORE FUCKING ALBUMS The Earache reissues are upon us, with the first Mistress album having been rereleased on the 5th of September, and the reissued Chronovisor due out in the coming weeks. The reissues have been variously tarted up both sonically and in terms of the inclusion of several bonus tracks intended to either make you bang your head or get depressed even harder than the original incarnations of hate may have otherwise done. With any luck, this airing will coincide with the UK tour that's looming, and everything will fit together like a well designed jigsaw puzzle (soaked in piss). This had nothing to do with Mistress, honest) it's time to play up live. So on the 16th and 27th of November there will be gigs in Birmingham, to try out some of the new material. First at Edwards with Pig Destroyer and Total Fucking Destruction on the 16th and then on the 27th at the Jug of Ale in Moseley with 5ive and Ramesses. Plus Earache Records have been naive enough to ask Mistress to play at their Xmas bash in December. The tour page will have details of all these in about 5 minutes. MISTRESS SIGN WORLDWIDE DEAL WITH EARACHE RECORDS Earache is proud to announce the signing of notorious antisocial scumsters MISTRESS to a worldwide deal. Having festered and thrived in the midst of the grimy UK grind/hardcore scene during the last few years, the band have contaminated all who they have come into contact with via a heady mixture of alcoholic inebriation, bluntly opinionated confrontation and basic feral violence. Formed in Birmingham during 1999, Mistress have released two albums to date - 'Mistress' and 'The Chronovisor' - to rave reviews and have gigged with the likes of Napalm Death, Mayhem, Electric Wizard, Bolt Thrower and Extreme Noise Terror. Their hard-to-pin-down sound comes across as a sickening sludge/grind/doom hybrid, reminsicent of the early UK grind scene of the late 80's and early 90's, and has been described as 'a vile musical bastard, a bilious, screaming, snot-faced sludge orphan with all the taste and decorum of a sexual encounter in Wormwood Scrubbs'. STUDIO UPDATES Mistress started work on the follow up to the 5K rated self titled debut lp on Rage of Hovis records this week. Saturday the main drums and guide guitar tracks laid down, Sunday the 2 main guitars and bass laid down and Tuesday the rest of the bass lead guitar tracks a a few vocal tracks finished. More vocals to take place on Friday and then the mammoth task of mixing all this noise down on to the masters is to be done next week. MISTRESS FORCED TO CANCEL A LOAD OF GIGS Yep, sorry to anyone who came to see us and we cancelled, we have been trying to get the new album done and it kind of went all wrong. First we lose our studio (because some band who were sharing the rooms (not Sally) didn't pay their rent) so we had to find a new recording studio which we have done. But it isn't built yet so we cant rehearse or record. So we can't really do much at the moment. Will be sorted soon though. Without getting into great detail, suffice to say Mistress are gutted about losing out on the gig. Assurances have been given that the Birmingham show will go ahead however, despite what may or may not have been advertised in various magazines. So expect to see Mistress there venting their considerable frustration at a state of affairs that wasn't really anyone's fault, but is a pain right between the buttocks nonetheless. Apologies to anyone in London misguided enough to have been looking forward to the show - just mark it down as a pisser of a mix up. MISTRESS IN ROCKSOUND Mistress get 4/5 in this month's Rock Sound magazine also featured is a half page interview with Misery GERMANY... A new distribution deal has been signed between Rage of Achilles and Soulfood, a Berlin based branch of Sony operating in Germany, meaning that Mistress CDs will be distributed by them over there. Official German release date is set for May the 27th. Should be available in other places too, but this just means that German distribution will be extra, erm, 'nice'. STUDIO UPDATE & LONDON GIG NEWS Work continues apace in the stench ridden catacombs of Necrodeath Studios. A grand total of 5 songs are now fully recorded, with the remainder just awaiting vocal blasphemy before they are complete. Utterly despicable vile heaviness, smeared with the pustulent canker of the angriest of puke. Nice. Plus, the Mistress gig in London with Bolt Thrower and Benediction (who says death metal's dead?!?!) was set to be cancelled, owing to lackofdavecuntitis on the night. However, one of the most legendarily CUNTISH Londoners alive will be stepping unto the breach, dear friends, and the day is saved. Long live the RAT! 2 ALBUMS ON RAGE OF ACHILLES Mistress have just signed a 2 album agreement with Rage of Achilles records The first album will be out about febuary ish and before that a rerecorded version of Stuntcock will be featured on the Rage of Achilles sampler if all goes to plan then this shall be out early next year. Mistress are now busy recording in Necrodeath studios. Also Mistress have a support slot on the Bolt thrower gig in london on january the ninth at the Underworld in Camden. MISTRESS TO THE RESCUE Owing to illness in the ranks, Dave's other band, Frog, had to pull out of a gig the other day with local(ish) hardcore superstars Decimate, 'unfortunate' black cunt tree bosters Creep (aka Dead Sun Rising) and Inside Conflict, who are ironically enough French. Never fear though, for Mistress are here! We stepped in at the 11th hour, and filled the gaping, Frog shaped void in the bill with a set of disgusting heaviness and jokes in such bad taste that not even the sickos laughed. We did though. 23/11/01 - a date to go down in history as the day Mistress were absolute cunts (hardly surprising), belligerent, half drunk and utterly un-hardcore. DOWN WITH LIFE METAL! WORCESTER IS FUCKING ACE!! Yep, thats right, Worcester is officially FUCKING ACE! Cheers to all that came to the Appletree gig on Saturday, despite it being our first gig for months, everything went well. And a hearty thanks to The Finishing School for organising the gig, especially at a venue where every other building is either a boozer, an offy or a takeaway, which certainly pleased Dunc, Dave and Leroy Sally. And finally, apologies to the staff in the petrol station outside Worcester for Dunc falling over a magazine stand, then shouting the word 'cunt'. Then buying some Porn.
