THE RABBIT

I bet you would have never thought of a little bunny as a choice for a totem.....after all..... don't we associate totem's with animals of strength, or wisdom, myth, or at least something "awesome", like the tiger, or bear? Well, that is the human concept. And to have a rabbit as a totem would be a great adventure indeed!!

Rabbit's are found in myth and folklore, and there are a variety of perceptions on this idea. But myth isn't really what we are interested in altogether right now. First let me say this. When you are considering any one of these animals, study the attributes, the patterns and way of life. All of this tells you very important facts about the animal, and will help you understand how to apply this to your life, helping you to understand the particular animal's medicine or message to you as an individual.

For instance with Rabbit, lets take a look at what I am referring to. Rabbit's are thought of for their procreation. But fertility does not always apply to procreation, it can also mean fertile in business, or in any process you may be involved. Another factor we know about them, is they hop, leap, zig-zag, circle back, making quick rapid turns. Try picturing in your mind, visualize the animal. Can't you see the rabbit running, making quick turns, circling back and then what's this, he can "freeze" himself in one spot, not moving at all, and then going from that stance to a full run. This could mean that those attributes applied to your life will aid your success. How? By making you "at the right spot, at the right time". You would be able to take advantage of a situation that might be attainable for only brief moments. This totem spirit guide can be there to help you speed up processes that are dragging along. The RABBIT is a picture of a true optimist. He never gives up, but is continually thinking of different approaches to self-preservation.
