dual record for the season and recorded their first loss of the
season on Saturday. Duxbury participated in a multi-team Dual match
hosted by
Bridgewater-Raynham and including Longmeadow, Agawam, and Taunton.
The days wrestling for the Dragons started with Bridgewater-Raynham.
Very little went the Dragons way with many reliable winners
for the Dragons losing tough matches. Bright spots for the Dragons
included Scott Klebanoffss match against last years
Massachusetts All State and New England champion, Rob LeRoux. Scott
fended off both a technical fall and a pin, preventing LeRoux from
scoring five or six team points and holding LeRoux to a gain of
only four team points in the 135 pound weight class. Wins for Duxbury
against B-R included Steve Celino (152 pounds), Matt Lanuto (171
pounds), Ian McConnaughey (119 pounds), and Kyle McCarthy (125 pounds).
All four Duxbury wins were pins. The final score was 47-24 in favor
of Bridgewater-Raynham.
Duxburys second match of the day was against an overmatched
Taunton team. Duxbury won all ten bouts wrestled for a final score
of 57-0. Scott Klebanoff (140), Josh Caldwell (160), Don Perry (171),
Elmo Roberts (189), Anthony Binsfield (215), Kris Burgos (275),
Kevin Donoghue (119), Greg Woods (125), and Kyle McCarthy (130)
all scored pins for the Dragons. Nick Petrocelli (145) won his bout
by major decision.
In the third match of the day Longmeadow gave the Dragons some
tough bouts, but Duxbury was able to pull out a convincing 45-28
win. Doug Imbrogna (145), Josh Caldwell (160), Matt Lanuto (171),
Adam Johnson (103), and Ian McConnaughey (119) all recorded pins
for the Dragons. Adam Johnsons win was also his first win
by pin in a varsity match. In the 215 pound match, Anthony Binsfield
won by injury default when Mike Bazos of Longmeadow hurt his knee
and was unable to continue the bout. Other wins for Duxbury included
a major decision by Steve Celino (152) and a technical fall by Kyle
McCarthy(125).
Duxbury finished the day with a 42-28 win against Agawam. Scott
Klebanoff (135), Steve Celino (152), Matt Lanuto (171), Anthony
Binsfield(215), Kris Burgos (275), and Kyle McCarthy (125) all recorded
pins for the Dragons. Tom Protasewich (140) and Ian McConnaughey
