| Shakira has been appointed goodwill ambassador for UNICEF. At the age of 26, she is officially the youngest person to be givin this titled. Shakira remarks that she has seen first hand how UNICEF helps children in her home country of Colombia. Some of her duties include to visit countries in need of help to witness first-hand the difficulties of these regions. The decision was made since Shakira has a world appeal and has a fanbase that spans many ages including the younger generation. | It has been officially announced on her website that Shakira will be releasing a DVD in February 2004!! As some have speculated, this probably will be a DVD of her world tour : The Tour of the Mongoose. It was also announced that she will releasing a new album next year. According to an interview on Univision.com that someone has translated on the official Shakira Message Board, it will be released in the middle of 2004 and will be a double CD. Some say that it will be one side english and one side in spanish. It has also been reported by various sources including MTV.com that Shakira will be collaberating with The Matrix. These are the same writters that worked with Avril Lavigne on her debut album.The official site said that it will be posting more updates in the future. |
| Entertainement Weekly has releaded an interview where they have talked to The Matrix about Shakira's upcoming album. They say that her album is due for August!! They say that the album will be more oriented towards an 80s/The Cure/The Pretenders kinda rock sound.
