Week 5 - JVC White 24   Ipswich 14


Sparked by an opening play 60 Yd. TD pass from Andrew Dunn to Peter Merry, the JVC White Falcons went on to defeat Ipswich, 24-14. The Falcon defense, with fumble recoveries by Anders Salmonsen and Merry, as well as an interception by Jeremy Koen, gave the offense great field position. Coleman Hebert, Brian McKinnon, John Long, Jack O'Donnell, John Silva and Sam Montanari spearheaded a tenacious Falcon defense. Offensively, Brendan Cross' 35 Yd. TD run and Dunn's second TD pass, 60 yards to Koen, gave Danvers a commanding 24-6 halftime lead. Danny Lynch (2-PT. Conversion), Koen (2-2Pt. conversions, 70 Yd. run), Jon Larcom and Will McGuinness carried the ball well for the 3-1 Falcons.Outstanding interior line play by Brian Dunn, Hayden Graham, Anthony Bettencourt and Doug Bean helped Danvers control the ball in the second half. The JVC White takes on an always tough Lynnfield team next Saturday.

Week 2 - Danvers 6   Amesbury 0

 

The Danvers JVC White 5/6 Gr. Falcons won a hard fought battle versus Amesbury JVC, 6-0.  A 10 yd. TD run by Brendan Cross in the 3rd quarter proved the game winner!  Danvers missed a golden opportunity during a scoreless first half when a 65 yd. throw and catch from Andrew Dunn to Peter Merry was nullified due to a penalty.  Defensively, the Falcons were led by the tenacious play of linebacker Rashad Francois (8 tackles).  Also contributing were Brian McKinnon (6 tackles) and Brian Dunn (5 tackles).  Fumble recoveries by Anders Salmonsen and Coleman Hebert, as well as solid play from safeties Nick Fazio and Patrick Staaf  helped shut down Amesbury in the 4th quarter.  The 2-0 White Falcons play the 2-0 Blue Falcons next Saturday at Deering stadium.

 

Week 1 – Danvers 16   Pentucket 14

 

The JVC White 5/6 graders opened the 2008 season with a 16-14 win at Pentucket. QB Andrew Dunn orchestrated a punishing ground game for the Falcons, featuring RB's Jeremy Koen, Danny Lynch and Brendan Cross. Following a Cross 15 yd. TD run, the swarming Falcon defense shut down a strong Pentucket running game to hold an 8-6 halftime lead. After Pentucket scored to take the lead, Danvers drove 75 yards, with Cross sprinting 20 yards for the game tying TD. Anders Salmonsen rushed for the deciding 2 Pt. conversion and the Falcon victory! On the defensive side of the ball, outstanding performances by Doug Bean (6 tackles), Scott Rapson ( forced fumble), Shivam Patel (interception), Anthony Maglione (fumble recovery). Also providing great 2-way play for the Falcons were Coleman Hebert, Willie McGuinness and Peter Merry. The Falcons travel to Amesbury on Saturday hoping to continue their strong play.
