So.... how come you now own a 320/6 Automatic from 1980?
Well, as everybody in my family knows by now, I am a real car-nut.... Ever since I can remember I have always loved cars. The first things I could actually recognise from all the cars were BMW's. My father and uncle owned a BMW E12 5-series at the same time. My father owned a 1976 518 (yes I know, not quite the BMW, but enough at that time), and my uncle a 525. When the head gasket of my fathers 518 "refused working", my uncle spent a whole day at a neighbour's garage to fix it. My uncle worked at a BMW dealer at that point in time. After many cars, in order of apperance a Datsun Bluebird, Opel Ascona B, Misubishi Galant Wagon, Volvo 343 and a Misubishi Galant sedan, my father saw a 1979 BMW 320/6 at our garage..... it did not take long for him to buy the car. He drove the car mainly to his work and back. But when an annoying rattle came from the driver's side door, he decided to buy a Nissan Sunny 1.7 SLX Diesel.... That was only after a year of owning the car. I could never forget how I felt when we had to part with the 320/6. Now twelve years later I own my own 320/6... funny how life goes. But I really always wanted it. Although it needs some more work and costs to keep it on the road, I feel this car is worth it. I know when it is finished it can really be the best car I have ever owned!
