final
note.... |
Avoid bunk e and potentially dangerous
substitutes by testing your e. Typically, for the cost of one pill you
can test several hundred pills. Honest dealers have usually at one time
tried their products and maybe
have tested them.... you might consider it if you sell. (Power to the good
dealers!)
Testing you e will reveal if there is a real ecstasy-like
substance (accepted are MDMA, MDE, MDA), no real drugs at all, or if the
pill contains speed, 2CB, or perhaps most importantly DXM.
To test your ecstasy,
you'll need to purchase a special kit- usually containing a chemical that
when combined with a tiny bit of the pill you are testing, will turn a
specific color almost instantly to indicate its content. Some popular kits
(recommended by dancesafe.org,
ecstasy.org,
etc) are: ***
These kits each test approx. 200
pills each
EZ

$20 +/-, depending on where you get it
from of course. |
DanceSafe

What pill testing kits cannot do: a) tell you how pure the ecstasy
is, b) tell you which ecstasy-like substance is in your pill, c) tell you
how much ecstasy is in your pill.
Virtually all e testing
kits use the chemical Marquis Reagent, which is why the results
systems are the same. Like other chemicals, MR does go bad. After 6 months
it may be questionable, but some have lasted a year or so. Keeping the
chemical in a dark glass bottle helps.
If
you spill the MR acid, neutralize it with baking soda before cleaning it
up.
One of the perks
about ordering your kit directly off the dancesafe.com, bluelight.nu,
etc websites is that part of the profits will be donated to that website,
for its continuation.
What to do if you don't have the
test yet:
If you buy e at
a rave or just haven't gotten your test (which I know you're gonna buy,
right?) you can at least ask the dealer if you can taste the e. Occasionally,
tasting the product becomes a sales pitch. I've had people come up to me
saying "man, you GOTTA taste this shit!" trying to sell. Not all
dealers are trying to make a huge profit off you at any cost- a respectable
dealer will often sacrifice one pill of each brand for clients to taste,
especially if you have a good hookup. Of course, to taste-test pills you
have to know what real e tastes like. Crank/crystal meth is similar. Tasting
your e is not foolproof- sometimes your tastebuds aren't correct and sometimes
the pills can still be cut with something else in them. Even if the e is
fake, the small amount you taste really won't affect you.
Other
Drug Colors (from testing):
(this
table copied from erowid.org,
and is not documented anywhere else..... kinda suspicious. Not even on
the test kit sites.....)
2C-T-2 |
Orange to Red (usually
a sort of salmon color) |
2C-T-7 |
Orange to Red (salmon,
again; also, there is less tendency towards orange than 2C-T-2 shows) |
4-Acetoxy-DiPT |
Dirty (blackish) olive |
5-MeO-DiPT |
Fizzes then turns yellow
quickly changing to a slightly rusty orange |
Alpha-Methyl-DiPT |
Fizzes then turns brown |
AMT |
Dark brownish-yellow |
Benzylpiperazine |
No color change, but
it causes the reagent to fizz. Looks like when you pour hydrogen peroxide
on a cut. |
DiPT |
Fizzes strongly then
turns a neon yellow |
DPT |
Dirty olive |
Opiates |
Pink to Purple |
Phenolphthalein |
Crimson |
PMA |
No color change. |
Harmine |
Fizzes slightly, much
less so than BZP, and turns a brown-orange rust color. |
Yohimbine |
Fizzes slightly, much
less so than BZP. Slowly (up to a minute), it will turn an olive green
color. |
