Hello again, classmates. Looks like one more year of notes from Runyan - I'll be at Earlham until the end of next year.

I am serving as visiting instructor in music, teaching music theory and directing some instrumental ensembles.  If you want to know what is going on here, I can surely let you know. There is always an event happening in the Fine Arts, so if you are planning a visit, you may want to work in a concert, a play, or an exhibit.

Strategic planning is winding down, so expect information about the vision of the college for the foreseeable future. Also keep an eye out for information on the recently adopted General Education Requirement changes. I'm pleased with the new structure, and look forward to seeing it take shape.

Earlham is also trying to push up enrollment, and in order to do so, your help is needed.  Do whatever you can to aid in recruiting students that you think might be a good match for Earlham.  For those of you with ties to old (or new) high schools, this is particularly important.  Call upon guidance counselors and others and let them know about EC.  Have prospective students drop a line to your favorite professors from your time here.  Help to build upon relationships, and make new ones.

The Bolling Center now is mostly covered in brick, and I'm anxious to see how it finishes up over the summer. The front of campus looks quite different now. Another reason for you to visit, perhaps?

Finally, keep in mind that you will be getting information in the mail about our five year reunion soon. Hard to believe that it has been that long, but it has. I'm looking forward to seeing many of you then, if not sooner. As of this writing, we are in the end of semester throes, with commencement and all-reunion weekend just around the corner.

~
