Beautiful Eilean Donan, where some of the scenes from the (fantastic!) movie 'Highlander' were filmed. Thanks to the wonderful Jo Taylor for the photos (and the others, too). We went around Scotland together, and what an experience it was. |
Hairy Coos! Part of the Macbackpacker Highland Safari... |
The haunting and breathtaking Glencoe. One of my favourite folk songs is about an awful time in Scottish history when one clan (Campbell) tried to annihilate another (MacDonald). It's called 'The Glencoe Massacre'. |
The Drover's Inn, where I had my first taste of Fraoch heather beer, surrounded by old furniture and hunting trophies. Despite being vegetarian :), I wrote several chapters of a fantasy novel in my head that day... |
I can't remember the name of this loch but I call it Loch Scotland because it's shape forms the outline of Scotland. Great stuff, and great photography. |
More pictures to be added, of Ireland and maybe even some of Stonehenge, Glastonbury Tor and Tintagel. I'll see how I feel :) |

The incredible Oisin MacUrcran (spelt wrong I'm sure), a Macbackpackers tour guide and one of the most knowledgeable people on Celtic mythology I have ever met. Osh, remember the raven at Culloden? The other people are Jo Taylor, who took most of these photos, and me, funnily enough! |

My clan is Maclean. One of my favourite tunes is called 'The Athol Highlanders'. So you can imagine the shiver up my spine when I saw this at Culloden... and then the raven that was there. All hail the Morrigu! |
