Significant recent events:

Formation of Leaguers squad
The Leaguers squad is for children who are not ready for the competition squad but need more of a challenge than the recreational sessions can give.  So the leaguers' squad was norn.  These gymnasts train twice a week and compete regularly doing "club level" acro (a combination of Prep A and School level balances) at all our club competitions (pre-competition warm-ups where the squad compete against each other using full competition rules).

Some of the children in the original formation of the leaguers are now in the squad:  Chloe & Paige Sawkins, Sherearce Neat, Maggie Cador, Rebecca Adesina and more recently, Jessica Deveson, Sian Davies & Jack Clout..

SPONSORED EVENT
To celebrate their 20th anniversity the club decided to hold a sponsored event to raise money for a good cause - after discussion amongst the gymnasts & coaches two "themes" were evident - cancer related charities and children so it was decided to donate the proceeds from the day to Demelza House which covers both these and more.

Demelza House helps terminally ill children to live their days as independently and happily as possible.  They are also set in place to help the families of the children and support them.

In total £1,130 was raised and the Club would like to thank Tides Leisure Centre for donating prizes for the two people who raised highest sponsorship (well done Demi & Kirsten) and for allowing the club to use the sports hall free of charge for the event.

Sue Bedborough recently collected the cheque on behalf of Demelza House Children’s Hospice and stated that she was really pleased with the club’s efforts and support of the charity: ‘We appreciate the time and support given to the children and their families, and we wish the gymnasts every success in the future’

Below is a photo of everyone who took part - coaches, gymnasts .... and parents!
