The Field

With very few exceptions, the Hobart Sandlot Football League plays all of its games in Hobart.  The site of the games is usually Senior Field at Glover Bowl.  The site has become a well known landmark for many athletic events, but most of all, the HSFL.  The field is surrounded by ever green trees on all but one side, giving it an arena football feel.  The field is approximately 70 yards long and 30 yards wide.  The length of the field is divided into thirds and each time the offense crosses into a new third, they receive a first down.  The grounds of the Glover Bowl have taken a beating over time.   Including a large battle with moles following the 2000 season, which almost left the field unplayable, but the field, like the players, is resilient and was ready to go for 2001.
