SPRINGS & ANTIROLL BARS work together to control understeer and oversteer in your car's handling. They do so by controlling where the transfered weight (durning body roll) goes - FRONT VERSUS REAR. Because traction is directly proportional to the weight applied to the tire, weight shifted the front or rear tires will increase traction in that region.
WHEN FRONT SRINGS OR BARS ARE STIFFENED (the rears remaining the same) MORE WEIGHT TRANSFER WILL OCCUR AT THE FRONT.
So with the front stiffer than the rear THE FRONT WILL HAVE LESS TRACTION and the car will tend to UNDERSTEER |
