Reading

This section contains reading material, think of it as a library of sorts. While the articles section has modern texts, newspaper reports and the like which are not written by me (as well as those that were written by me), this section concentrates on older texts, mythology, and information of that sort.

Historical Witchcraft

The Emergence Of The Christian Witch by P G Maxwell-Stuart, History Today

Margaret Murray

Be aware that Margaret Murray's work is considered to be fatally flawed, and its premise (that there was an actual witchcraft religion which was persecuted during the witch craze) false. However, her ideas have had an enormous influence on modern Paganism - they influenced Gerald Gardner, and continued to have influence until recently. Indeed, some authors still state Murray's conclusion. Her book The Witch Cult in Western Europe (1921) is reprinted here. Though I should warn you that there is a fair bit of French in it, which I am unable to translate.
