At Such A Time As This
In this section we shall discuss time, and periods of time, and what some of G-d’s word says about time, for it is time that we understand the times that we live in. The first mention of time in scripture is given in Gen.1: 1, “In the beginning,” for what has a beginning will have an ending, and this particular beginning is the beginning of time for mankind. In Genesis 1:14-19 G-d made the sun, moon, planets, and stars, in the fourth day. Then in verse 14 G-d says: “Let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.” So G-d set the heavens in motion and this was the beginning of time for man. Now when we get to the end of Genesis chapter one, we come to the end of creation in the sixth day.

  Then we read in
Genesis 2: 1-3,
1) “Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2) And on the seventh day G-d ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3) And G-d blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which G-d created and made.”

So we have first the creation of time in the beginning, then the creation of days or evening-mornings, and now with G-d ending his work and sanctifying the seventh day, we have the creation of the week. These periods of time are to be told by the sun, moon, stars, and planets, as well as periods of months and years. Now the next verse is a peculiar statement:

Gen.2: 4) “These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day G-d made the earth and heavens.

What are the generations of the heavens and earth? This does not say generations of men or people; it says the generations of the heavens and the earth. This must mean the times of the heavens and the earth! Another curious thing is this: G-d just told us that he took six days to create the heavens and the earth and the seventh day he sanctified, but this verse says “in the day G-d made the earth and heavens.” Notice the word “day” is singular! We have here the first teaching of a day that is longer than a literal week! We know by Gen.1: 1-19 that G-d took more than one day to create both the heavens and the earth:

Genesis 1:1-19
1) “In the beginning G-d created the heaven and the earth.
2) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of G-d moved upon the face of the waters.
3) And G-d said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4) And G-d saw the light, that it was good: and G-d divided the light from the darkness.
5) And G-d called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6) And G-d said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7) And G-d made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8) And G-d called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9) And G-d said, Let the waters under the Heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10) And G-d called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and G-d saw that it was good.
11) And G-d said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12) And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and G-d saw that it was good.
13) And the evening and the morning were the third day.
14) And G-d said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15) And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16) And G-d made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17) And G-d set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18) And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and G-d saw that it was good.
19) And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.”

Now obviously it was four days that G-d allowed for the creation of the earth and heavens, and the stars, sun, moon, and planets. So why does he say, “in the day G-d created the earth and heavens?” Surely he speaks of a greater day. The clue comes from the fact that these are the generations of the heavens and the earth. The word “generations” in Gen.2: 4 has a direct link to Psalm 90, and Psalm 90 was also written by Moses! Speaking again of generations Moses says:

Psalms 90:1-4
1.) “L-rd, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
2.) Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art G-d.
3.) Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
4.) For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.”

What does he mean by “from everlasting to everlasting?” He means from the beginning of time until the end of time, for G-d was everlasting before the earth and heavens were created, and G-d will be everlasting after time is abolished! So he says that a thousand years to G-d are but yesterday, one day. So now we can see a thousand year “day” coming into view. Moses understood that G-d was outside of time, and that time was a constraint put upon creation. Moses also understood that the way G-d set forth creation in six days was how G-d displayed what his timeline would be for mankind.
G-d set one week for the fulfillment of all of his prophecies. The six days are the six thousand years that man is to rule the earth; the seventh is a thousand year day of rest. It will be the thousand-year reign of the Messiah Jesus on earth. Now this is not the only evidence, Simon Peter echoed this truth in his second epistle.

2 Pet.3: 8) “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the L-rd as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

Now I ask you: why does G-d reveal this to us? Is this just a quaint little saying? I don’t think so. What this means is that G-d is true to his word, and his word says he declared the end at the beginning of time!

Isaiah 46: 9-10,
9.) “Remember the former things of old: for I am G-d, and there is none else; I am G-d, and there is none like me,
10.) declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying my counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.”

How did G-d declare the end from the beginning? By creating the earth and heavens, and man, and animals, and all the world in six days. Also by ending his work and sanctifying the seventh day, he has shown us that the world will last one great week, seven thousand years.
We learn of the great day of Christ’s reign on earth in the book of the Revelation, we all know that it will be a thousand year reign, but this is still not all of the evidence. The final proof is back in 2 Peter 3,

2 Pet.3: 10) “But the day of the L-rd will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”

All of this happens in the day of the L-rd! When does Christ come as a thief in the night? At the beginning of his thousand-year reign he comes. When are the earth, and all the works therein, and the heavens and elements, burned up? They pass away at the end of the thousand-year reign of Christ! So, not only does G-d give us proof of this at the beginning of his word, he also gives us proof here at the end of it.

Revelation 20:4-5
4) “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of G-d, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5) But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.”

  Revelation 20:11-15
11.) “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12.) And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before G-d; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13.) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14.) And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15.) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

  Revelation 21:1-6
1.) “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2.) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from G-d out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3.) And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of G-d is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and G-d himself shall be with them, and be their G-d.
4.) And G-d shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5.) And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6.) And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.”

Now we shall go back to Genesis 2, for there is other evidence.
In the beginning when G-d created man and woman, G-d speaks to Adam and says,

Gen.2: 17) “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

Many say that Adam died spiritually and think no more about it; however, this verse had a double fulfillment. Adam and Eve did die spiritually but G-d immediately provided for their sin and saved them. Notice in Genesis three that after G-d curses the serpent, Adam, and Eve, we read this:

Gen.3: 20-21
20.) “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.
21.) Unto Adam also and to his wife did the L-rd G-d make coats of skins, and clothed them.”

This was the first case ever of innocent blood being shed for the remission of sins; the covering! So instead of Adam and Eve being put to death, innocent animals were sacrificed in their place. In this, the very beginning, G-d provided the sacrifice!
In Genesis four we read the story of Cain and his descendents. I touch on this story to show only one thing; not one single person in the lineage of Cain is said to have “lived.” It is because they were spiritually dead, because of unrepentant hearts, yet Adam and all of the people listed in his genealogy, (Gen.5), down to Noah are said to have “lived.”
So then, when did Adam finally die? Gen.5: 5 tells us that Adam lived 930 years and then he died. Ironically Adam fell 70 short of 1000. If a thousand years to G-d is as one day, then Adam died within the “day” that he ate of the forbidden tree! Notice also that Gen.2: 17 says “for in the day that thou eatest thereof,” not on the day that thou eatest thereof.
What then, does G-d mean when he wants us to enter into his rest? It is his day of rest that he speaks of, the thousand-year reign of Christ! This is why the seventh day was sanctified and Holy! Now this great week of G-d’s time-line is also played out in the life of Jesus Christ. In fact the great week is all about the Messiah and his kingdom, “for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” If you do not understand prophecy then you do not understand the testimony of Jesus Christ, and if you do not understand the testimony of Jesus Christ then you will never understand prophecy. Beware of those who say prophecy is not for them.
So how is the great week played out in the life and ministry of Christ? We read in Exodus 12 of the institution of the Passover,

Exodus 12: 3) “Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, in the tenth of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for a house.”
  Exodus 12: 5-6
5.) “Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep or from the goats:
6.) and ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.”

The month of course was Nisan, but the interesting thing is that they were to keep it for four days until the fourteenth day of the month. This was so that they could be sure it had no blemishes. Then at evening on the fourteenth of Nisan they were to kill the Passover lamb. This is exactly what happened to Christ our L-rd! It was Palm Sunday, Nisan 10 that Christ entered Jerusalem on the donkey. Then for four days the Pharisees and Sadducees questioned him over and over and over again, trying to catch him saying something they knew to be false. They could not find a blemish in him or any of his answers! Then on the evening of the fourteenth of Nisan they crucified him! This is representative of the first four days of the great week. From 4004 BC unto 4 BC, (when Christ was born), the first four great days passed.
The word of G-d, the law and prophets, was given for the Jews to inspect and to be sure that it had no blemishes in it. And its genealogy’s include four thousand years from Adam to Messiah. It is no coincidence that the Gospel of John calls Christ the “word.” Jesus is the word of G-d and this “word” became flesh and dwelt among us.
So, if Palm Sunday was Nisan 10, then Nisan 14 was a Thursday and Christ was crucified on a Thursday. The last three days of the great week are also represented by his death and resurrection. When Christ died on the cross he did not rest for two days, he continued to preach the gospel of the kingdom of G-d.

1 Pet.3: 18-19
18.) “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to G-d, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19.) by which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison.”

This is important! Christ continued to preach the Gospel even in death! Why is it important? He would have preached two days, for the third day he was raised. This is what the last two thousand years have been! They have been the last two days before the final seventh day of rest, the Holy Sabbath Day that is the reign of Christ. These last two days the church has been preaching the Gospel to the dead, the spiritually dead, just as Christ preached two days to the physically dead! This is how the early church knew they were in the last days; they understood this concept! They knew that they were living in the last three thousand years of the great week, and that Christ would return after two “days.”
The Epistle of Barnabus proves that the early church believed this way, it was written between 100 and 250 AD, but I will not quote from it here.
This is also why Paul could say that the Day of Christ would not come until the man of sin is revealed, he wasn’t worried about the eminency theory that the modern shepherds promulgate. They teach their eminency theory to scare people into accepting Christ. This theory is not speaking of the return of Christ, they use it for the rapture, and it is a scare tactic, “don’t get left behind.” G-d wants his people to know what they are agreeing to when they accept his salvation!
The last three thousand years are also pictured in the account Matthew gives of the death of Christ. Now we have already looked at this passage, but I did not mention this observation at the time, maybe you noticed something strange about it.

Matthew 27:50-53
50) “Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51) And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52) And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53) And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.”

Notice something strange here? When Jesus cried with a loud voice, and yielded up the ghost, it says the veil of the temple was torn, an earthquake happened, the rocks rent, (broke), the graves were opened, and many bodies of the saints which slept arose. The strange part is that the saints did not come out of the graves until three days later when Christ was resurrected! This is the truth of the church now! We receive new life in Jesus Christ, our spirit is quickened and we come to life when we confess his name as L-rd and Savior and give our lives to him. He breathes the Spirit into us, but we will not be resurrected until the beginning of the third day! The third day is of course also the seventh great day in G-d’s great week of time, this third day means the third day from Christ. The final scripture to recognize these great one-thousand-year days is in Hosea:

Hosea 6: 1-2,
1) “Come, and let us return unto the L-rd: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
2) After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.”

Now, remember when we learned that Elijah was a “type” of Christ in the Old Testament? We shall now see how Elisha his subject was a type of the church. We read the story of when Elijah was taken to heaven in 2 Kings 2,

  2 Kings 2:1-14
1.) “And it came to pass, when the L-rd would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
2.) And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the L-rd hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the L-rd liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.
3.) And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the L-rd will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
4.) And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the L-rd hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the L-rd liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.
5.) And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the L-rd will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
6.) And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the L-rd hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the L-rd liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.
7.) And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.
8.) And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
9.) And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
10.) And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
11.) And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12.) And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
13.) He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;
14.) And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the L-rd G-d of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.”

Now this is exactly what happened to the apostles! They saw Christ ascend into heaven, and it was they who received the double portion as we learned earlier. Elijah passed his mantle on to Elisha, just as Christ did to his apostles when he breathed on them and said receive ye the Holy Ghost; and telling them to go, and to preach the Gospel to all nations.
We are fast approaching the final half of the seventieth week of Daniel. The church was a mystery until Christ revealed it. We know that creation by the genealogies must have been around 4004 BC. We know that Christ was born in 4 BC, but what happened two thousand years later in 1997 AD? Nothing happened. We know that we’re close but because of all of the calendar changes and calendar difficulties, we cannot be sure of when the two days of the church are over. We also know that the ancients had a 360-day year and that it changed around 700 BC. However, G-d may have compensated for the calendar problems.
Something strange happened to the earth in Noah’s day, as well as around 700 BC, the earth’s axis and orbit were moved, changing the length of the year. Also, in Joshua’s day he commanded the sun to stand still over Gibeon’s army, and G-d caused it to happen. So what does all of this tell us? When G-d set in motion the stars, sun, moon, and planets, in the very beginning, he essentially set the giant clock for seven thousand years. The solar system we live in is basically a giant clock, but it has been slightly distorted because of man’s sin upon the earth.
Now as I said at the beginning of this work, the evidence for this truth is this: planetary alignments. We have seen only one major alignment of the planets with the sun; this came on May 5th, 2000. The reason we have only seen one is because they only happen about every thousand years, now scientists and astronomers confirm this! When the planetary alignment of 5/5/2000 was discovered, many predicted floods, tidal waves, destruction, mayhem, and the end of the world. They were of course incorrect, but then everyone just sort of forgot about it and went on with their lives. What nobody took away from this event was that this was the sign of the Eve of Destruction! The giant clock of G-d had just struck midnight on the sixth millennium. Even though all nine planets did not line up, because of man’s sin upon the earth, they had just completed a circuit of six thousand years. The Seventh Day is here; we are in it!
So then, how is it that G-d may have compensated for the mistakes in the various calendars that have been employed by man? As we know, the church was a mystery until Christ revealed it. Since the church was a mystery then it is probable that its time of preparation would be in 360-day prophetic years. I am not saying this is absolute truth, but that it is definitely is a possibility, and should not be ignored. We know now that the church began at Pentecost 31 AD, we also understand that the preparation of the church should be 2000 years, or “two days.” How do we know that this period is a time of preparation? The Jews practice this period every Friday, and Friday begins on Thursday evening! Friday is the Day of Preparation for the Sabbath. The Sabbath represents the great seventh-day millennium. The great "Day" of rest! (Enter the L-rd's rest).

Mark 15:37-42
37.) “And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.
38.) And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.
39.) And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of G-d.
40.) There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;
41.) (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.
42.) And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,”
John 19:41-42
41.) “Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.
42.) There laid they Jesus therefore
because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.”

So then, 2000 years x 360 days=720,000 days. Now to get the amount of time this would be in normal solar years of 365.24235 days you would have to divide 720,000 by this number. So, 720,000 divided by 365.24235=1971.29 normal calendar years. Now if Christ was crucified in 31 AD, and he was, then Passover of that year is calculated by astronomy software (Redshift 3), to have occurred between Tuesday, 3/25 and Thursday, 3/27. I take Thursday, 3/27 to be the correct date. If that was the correct date then Pentecost would have been fifty days later, (and even this is debatable,) so Pentecost would have come on May 16th 31 AD.
Now May 16th 31 AD= 31.375 solar years, if we add to that the 2000 prophetic years, (1971.29), we have 2002.665, this is 243 days into the year 2002. This date would be through August 31st 2002 unto September 1st, 2002.
Amazingly, the Feast of Trumpets in 2002 falls on the evening of September 6th. Now this being only five days difference is very close, but there is more to this calculation. When you divide long periods of time by 365.24235, you include all leap years except one type. In the calendar we use now every fourth year is a leap year, but every hundredth year is not. However, every four-hundredth year is a leap year, and this is why some computer programs had minor glitches in the year 2000. The programmers did not take into account this four-hundredth-year leap year. Remember hearing this on the evening news? So when you divide by 365.24235, you include all leap years except this four-hundredth-year type. How many occurred between 31 AD and the year 2002? The years, 400 AD, 800 AD, 1200 AD, 1600 AD, and 2000 AD, five of them occurred during the two thousand years of the church! So then, we add those five leap-days to September 1, 2002, and we come to the Feast of Trumpets, the evening of Sept. 6, 2002.
Remember this is a possibility to watch, and is not positively proven to be the way it will play out. If it is true then what should we expect to happen, the rapture? No way possible! The church is being prepared for a great work during the time of trouble; we will be called to give our testimony before kings, princes, rulers, judges, and magistrates. We must be prepared to give our lives. We should be watching for the man of sin to stand up, and if he does this will be the beginning of the 2300-day prophecy. It will also be the beginning of the Greco-Assyrian-Seleucid-Babylonian kingdom of the Moslems. From the Feast of Trumpets 2002 to Hanukah, Dec. 22, 2008 is 2300 days. This is the most unpredictable time-span in the word of G-d. The 1260, 1290, and 1335-day time-spans happen in almost all three and a half year periods of the Hebrew calendar, but not the 2300-day time-span.
Now here are the implications of the 2300-day prophecy beginning the evening of Sept. 6th, 2002. If it does begin that evening then it would end on the evening of the first day of Hanukah, Dec. 22, 2008, with the cleansing and justification of the new temple by Jesus the Messiah. Dec. 22, 2008 is exactly 2299 days, to the full, from the evening of Sept. 6, 2002. The evening of Dec. 22 2008 is the start of the 2300th day, and the prophecy says “unto” 2300 days.
So then, if this time-line is correct, we have the other prophetic time-lines locked in place. Here is how they unfold.
