The Site:

StoryWorks was created in October 2001 as an archive of my original writing. It has since grown to encompass reviews, guest writers, and other strange things... If all goes well, I will be adding an International Baccalaureate tips/resources section as well.

The Matheholic Behind The Pen--Er, Keyboard:

~Basic Rant

What is there to say? I'm fifteen years old (hopefully forever), sleep-deprived, obsessed with the Colorado Avalanche/Peter Forsberg/Philadelphia Flyers/Jeremy Roenick/hockey in general, in love with Dostoevsky's work, in love with polemical writing in general, in love with web design (see: my pitiful excuse for a webpage), and head-over-heels for...(a series of ineffably sublime things that require their own paragraph).

I am what the masses call a matheholic (sp?). I do math. A lot of math. For fun. To annoy people. And the occasional medal doesn't hurt either. Elementary math, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, math theory that doesn't fit in anywhere...you name it, I do it. And if I don't love it, I'll coerce myself into loving it. This is what I'm all about.

What about the other sciences? Of course. Chemistry is my true calling; physics is not far behind. Biology is interesting, but in my opinion, does not involve enough math to be of any real fun.

Finally, the humdinger. Yes, I am a slave of the International Baccalaureate Programme. It's true; I get no sleep. My best friends are my coffee beans. My backpack suffers with the weight of six thousand-page plus textbooks. Using a complicated formula incorporating the atomic mass of cesium, the ideal gas constant, the product of the registerings of my back spasms on the Richter scale, and the natural log of pi, I calculate that I will not make it to my sixteenth birthday or driver's license. Well, rest assured that if you're more than two years younger than me and considering entering into this slave labor, I will make up a survival guide and six IB syllabuses for you, if and when I graduate.

Oh yeah. And I write a little.
