KABOOM! for the Atari 5200 It doesn't look like Activision put much effort into sprucing this game up for the Atari 5200. Graphically, they just threw in some blocky buildings in the background. When you catch a bomb, it plays a note to the Bad News Bears theme. The only other addition is the "Pitch and Catch" mode, which allows a second player to be the Mad Bomber. The 5200 joystick is bad. There's no substitution for a good paddle controller. I didn't find it nearly as fun as the 2600 version. Paul Willson adapted Kaboom for the 5200. Larry Kaplan had nothing to do with the making of this version. |
