STUDENT DONATIONS BRIGHTEN CHRISTMAS FOR COMMUNITY Once again our
students have generously donated to the St. Thomas More Parish
Food Bank. During the Advent season our students brought non-perishable
food items to be included in Christmas hampers for needy families.
Along with these food items, a penny race at the school raised
over $1000.00 for the Parish Food Bank. Father Bill Corcoran
has sent a note expressing his appreciation to all who contributed
to the food bank. GYM-A-THON SUCCESSFUL Another successful fundraiser. As everyone is aware School Council held a Gym-a-Thon for our fundraising activity this year to raise funds to purchase classroom libraries for each classroom. The Gym-a-Thon took place over two days with all the students participating in a variety of physical activities. By all accounts everyone enjoyed it. This event was made possible by a number of dedicated individuals on School Council and the Staff and teachers of the school who put in countless hours doing such things as organizing the event, arranging for volunteers, collecting donations, purchasing prizes and bringing the event to life. Without these individuals and volunteers we could never have done this. A big thank you has to be extended to the children and their families who made and collected such generous pledges, which made this fundraiser such a success. In total, $14,649.00 was raised - WOW! On behalf of School Council, thank you to everyone and congratulations to all the lucky students who won prizes in the draws. MONSIGNOR HETHERINGTON SCHOOL FUNDRAISES FOR BOOKS By now you know
that our School Council is well on the way to raising money for
the purchase of classroom libraries. Though our school is well
equipped with many teaching and learning resources we have never
adequately equipped each homeroom with reading books that would
appeal to a wide range of abilities and interests. Your children
will benefit for years to come from the successful completion
of this project. |
