This website was created in 1998 to dispense information about, and views on, visual impairment. The resources provided here are designed to educate those seeking information on the subject.

New Vision is an unregistered non-profit entity, with no physical offices. There are no monetary gains associated with the operation of this site, no fees for any services offered here, and no requests made for financial donations.

The primary author and webmaster (Alyzza Hopfe), though a visually impaired degree-holder and professional in another discipline, has no formal training in the blindness field. The information on this site is collected from professional resources, and compiled here.

Why?

This site is an act of expiation.

Privacy:

New Vision will not reveal or discuss the contents of personal correspondence (defined as correspondence that includes information of a personal or private nature) but may use information of a professional nature:

with permission if it involves the reproduction of copyrighted material in whole or in part.
without permission in situations where New Vision has initiated contact with a person concerning a professional topic (e.g. site construction), and the addressee has replied on said topic.
when a (short, nondescript) question has been asked that is appropriate for the Q & A section.

Security:

No monetary transactions are conducted on this site. There are no special security protocols in place.

Financial:

There are no paid staff, nor are there monetary gains of any kind associated with the operation of this site (not even ad revenues). The information is provided in full text whenever possible, and in good faith.

New Vision does not accept donations of money.

Affiliation:

This site is not affiliated with any group. The name "New Vision" refers to the site itself, and to the collective of contributors.

The inclusion of a link on New Vision does not constitute endorsement unless otherwise stated. Service endorsement is rare and carefully considered.
