The following four polls were requested due to a recent survey/study regarding tampon use and intercourse during periods and how this may relate to endometriosis. You will find that article at the first link below.

Tampons, Sex Found Protective Against Endometriosis (click here)

As our limited sampling here shows (as did the ERC sampling), respondents have reported avoiding the use of tampons and engaging in intercourse at the time of their periods, due to pain. My personal opinion about these findings by the authors (of this 'mailed survey') is that it is a bunch of HOOEY (how's that for a technical definition ;)). I feel it is misleading and possibly damaging to leave the public with the idea that these techniques would be "protective against endometriosis" - UGH! This really presses my buttons! Endometriosis is a complex disease, not one to be controlled or protected or prevented by intercourse/orgasm during menses and tampon use, which can actually be harmful due to the dioxin content; dioxins have been linked to endometriosis.
