Hi, I’m Laurie and welcome to my column about the ups and downs of James’ music. First of all, the new album is tentatively scheduled for release in the spring, but don’t quote me on that cause I may be wrong. I’m personally really excited about the possiblity of a tour because a James gig would potentially be something I’d like to see. On the last tour, there is a chance that the live version of "Someone’s Got It In For Me" was possibly a good live track, although nothing final has been decided which I can print here. So, the probability that it might be included in James’ live set in the future tentatively could excite me, were that probability to become a reality, but nothing is "set in concrete" yet , so you may want to gather your own opinion.

In other news, the band have tentatively confirmed the release of a b-sides album with what I can unconfidently state has a fairly ridiculous title. Voting was held on the official website to decide on which songs should be included, although there is a possibility that the fans’ vote may be ignored, although as the final tracklisting has yet to be confirmed, I can only tentatively say that some of the fans’ wishes may have been granted, while others have possibly been ignored. There is also a possibility that votes submitted at this late date may still be counted, although it is still unconfirmed at the time this column is going to press.

Now I know that many of you are excited about the chance of a U.S. tour, and while there may be some dates in the late summer, it is too early to confirm whether or not this is definate. I do tentatively understand how frustrated the American and Canadian fans can get at the seeming lack of interest in their wants shown by the band, but I promise, they really want to come back to the States and are trying their best. While they tentatively hope to secure a North American record deal in the future, at present there is no confirmed news about their progress on this front.

Now is the time in my column when I’d like to reflect back on past glories which I particularly like. One of my favourite gigs of all time is tentatively Blackpool, 1999, a warmup gig for the Guildford Festival. I possibly liked the sight of Mark Hunter rising out of the stage floor riding a massive organ to the opening strains of "Laid". Or perhaps I was equally amused to see scantily clad dancers prancing around the stage during "I Know What I’m Here For." But it would not be fair to pronouce any of these things a definite fact as they have yet to be confirmed by the band’s management as they may be percieved as overshadowing equally high points of the gig. One thing I do know is that the crowd seemed to like the gig because they cheered very loudly, although it’s down to each fan’s personal choice as to which song they liked best during the course of the night. Personally, I might tentatively say that I liked getting drunk after the show best of all, if I were allowed to comment to that effect without fear of reprisal from official corners.

So that might be all from me for this month. In the meantime, keep listening and keep checking the site because who knows, James might actually allow me to update something sometime in the next decade.
