Bred & Owned by Kieran Ryan

My lofts have been established for six years. I guess you could say I was born with the "pigeon disease" as I am a third generation fancier. My grandfather Fred Ryan, was a very successful racing pigeon fanciers having been extremely successful at all distances up to 650 miles. His love of pigeons was transferred to my father, Rory Ryan of "  Roma Fancy Pigeon Lofts " who has both raced and shown pigeons for many years.

I started my interest in pigeons with German Beauty Homers and was fortunate to win Champion and Best Young at an Australian National Pigeon Association Show held in Melbourne, Australia. It was not until a visit to my families home by Alan Watts of Narooma New South Wales that my interest in the English Trumpeter was aroused. Alan was staying with us over night and had a few birds with him for delivery to another fancier, two of which were English Trumpeters.................wow!!! was I hooked. Thanks to Alan's willingness to promote a new breed to this country and to assist young fanciers my first two pairs were soon residing in my lofts.

While many would not recommend this breed to young fanciers because of the difficulty of maintaining their muffs in perfect condition , I would say to other young fanciers like myself if you are prepared to do the necessary work (cleaning & bathing) go for it as they are a great breed.

Through this great hobby I have already made many great friends, one in particular is an American fancier who all with English Trumpeters will know that is.................. "Mr ET"  Bob Nolan. Mr Nolan has spared no effort in writing to me via email, he answers all my questions about the breed and even brought to Australia in June when he judged our National Show various English Trumpeter stuff to keep me informed and interested in this breed. It is through the experience , knowledge and willingness to assist of men such as Mr Nolan that  both novice and young fanciers like myself can grow in this hobby.

If you are interested in English Trumpeters please drop me an email and I will tell you what I can or put you onto another experienced fancier.

Apart from pigeons I am also interested in basketball, athletics particularly track.
