About CSR

The Oklahoma Association of Insurance Agents (OAIA) solicited the help of the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education (ODCTE) in developing a statewide solution to the lack of trained administrative support for insurance personnel. State Farm Insurance had made a similar request of the ODCTE. The group recognized a need for an Insurance Customer Service Representative (CSR) training program.

Career Opportunities

The Insurance CSR Academy offers an exciting opportunity for students to launch a career with multiply pathways that offer a life-sustaining income. The potential of this program for the student is being placed in a CSR position at an average annual salary of $19,677. Furthermore, the shortage of CSRs is not limited to Oklahoma. Other states indicate they have similar shortages. Because of the demand for qualified CSRs this program provides available positions in a growing, vital industry and the ability to relocate and find comparable employment in other parts of the country.

The Program

This program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the insurance industry. Students acquire specific technical training, licensure, and credentials needed for success as customer service representatives in Oklahoma. The curriculum aligns with the core business skills and Insurance Systems and includes career-specific instruction to prepare for the state insurance agents examination, and advanced skills that lead to the prestigious CISR and LOMA designations.
