Bewildered
By: Erica(prez)
Life is so confusing
Just when I think I understand it
It all keeps changing
I feel so lost

Why do I think so hard
And let it all bother me?
I feel the need to keep guard,
To isolate myself

Emotions gnawing away,
With constant inner fighting
Create a feel of disarray
Clouds my mind

I want to let it be.
If I could just ignore it,
I would be happy
To enjoy life

I have but two choices
To live in the cave or not?
They scream loud voices;
I don't know which to choose.

To know the truth
And live life to the fullest,
Or to relive my youth
In a safe place.

Ode to Mr. Bowles
By: Erica(prez) and Emily
I'm sure everyone would agree
There's no place they'd rather be,
Than fifth period American Lit
in the year of two thousand three

A tap on the back,
A friendly love smack,
Is just what we need
To pick up the slack.

That silly little smirk
(A favorite quick)
Makes us laugh,
As we work

His clothes, Oh my!
Just look at that tie.
The colors don't match
Bringing tears to the eye

His kind caring way
Makes us want to say
Thanks for letting us work on our project so we could get done in time.
You made our day!

Candy
By:Erica(prez) Just one piece can get you addicted Just as your mother had predicted This craving inside You must provide Sugar! It calls As you bounce off the walls Lemon drops, taffy, and a sucker Especially the ones that make you pucker Nerds, gum, even candy straws Now fill your small little jaws So you eat another and another As you hear screams from your mother Are you crazy? You’re going to be sick! I bet you think your pretty slick Well you just wait You wont be feeling so great But you do not listen As your eyes start to glisten “I’ll go to the store and buy some more” You grab all your cash and run out the door. You run to the candy aisle As you begin to smile This is must be heaven This super seven You grab all you can carry Grape, orange, even cherry You take it to the counter and run back And grab an even bigger stack The service man packs up all your candy To make it more handy Then you begin to holler “I can’t believe this! 35 dollars!” “O well” as you pay You must not delay You then sneak inside And the candy you hide Later on you eat Those sweet sweet treats You eat every last one Till there are none. One final swallow As you begin to feel hollow The stomachache has come Then you spot one more crumb You grab it without thought That last crumb you sought Now you feel really bad “Why did I eat all that I had?” With that last thought you fall to the ground While making a horrible, terrible sound Your mother runs in And begins to grin “Now what did I tell you? Do not eat that sugar-filled goo.” Again you don’t listen And your eyes start to glisten Your mother fills with sorrow As you think of how to buy more tomorrow

What if
By:Erica(prez) Did you ever wonder How it might be If things were different Between you and me? What if, no longer friends Instead, worst enemies? Would I be replaced Leaving only the memories? And yet, even worse, What if I wasn't replaced Would you yearn For someone to fill that empty space? What if that fateful day When we first met Never came Would you be upset? We can wonder about the future Or we can wonder about the past But I'd rather live Every minute until the last.

What if
By:Michelle The grass is green and sometimes brown Rain makes it wet and the weeds makes it sweat The trees stand around it and give it shade But what would happen to the grass w/out rain.

Tom
By:Emily I spent my life chasing a mouse. All the while my stomach growled. Many a time I thought about resisting. He wasn't that bad after all. But when I tried to ignore him It only got worse. His taunting and teasing was beyond my control. Years passed full of scams and tricks; They finally caught up to me. A sigh of relief passed through me, As I finally reached the golden doors. I begged and pleaded with the Big Man, But it was in vain. I was sent down below. Still, I knew I was finally free of that mouse. I was all on my own. But when I arrived Willing to accept my fate. I noticed that I really wasn't alone. There near the floor was a hole. A mouse shaped hole at that. As I continued to stare in shock, A small brown head peaked out. All those years thinking I would finally get my reward. Yet hear I am spending all eternity with Jerry.

The Toy
By: Erica(prez)
There once was a girl named Joy
She only had one toy
It was kinda cheap
And went beep-beep
But was broken by a boy

The Tree
By: Erica(prez)
It stood straight and tall
As it towered above the rest
With its large branches

Pleasure
By: Erica(prez)
Pleasure is like a kitten purring softly
Pleasure is like looking at the stars on a cool summer night
Pleasure is like the sweet smell of perfumed roses in the morning
Pleasure is like hot soup on a crisp winter day
Pleasure is like cuddling a soft, fuzzy, teddy bear

Fragile Technology
By: Erica(prez)
My family is like a computer
Busy, yet organized
My mom is the tower,
Important, but you never know what she’s thinking
My dad, the monitor,
Also important, but a little more useful
Me, I’m the keyboard,
I do just about everything,
My brother is the mouse,
He makes things easier sometimes, he moves fast, but he’s annoying,
My dog, Tucker, is the games
Very entertaining
