Just Another Day By Erin_Cale Disclaimer: See first part. *** Kathryn blinked in surprise, then turned her gaze to Dylan. “Would you mind if some of my former crew came here for a little while?” Dylan, in turn, looked at his crew. Besides Tyr, whose only response was to shake his head, the general response was a shrug. He addressed Q, “Would it just be those two people you mentioned?” “Well, if Aunt Kathy wants, I could bring over the former senior staff. Let’s see, there’s Pointy Ears, Chuckles, Flyboy, his wife and their baby girl, the Good Ole Doc, Seven, and Harry. Did I miss anybody?” “It would be wonderful to see them again,” Kathryn said to Dylan. Unable to resist the look she gave him, Dylan in turn addressed Q. “Fine, but nobody else.” He ignored the glare from Tyr. “And they don’t stay any longer than a day.” “Done.” Q snapped his fingers and a bright flash caused the Andromeda crew to look away, putting their hands up to shield their eyes. When the spots finally left their eyes, they saw seven people standing in the exact place where the boy had stood moments before. Kathryn’s smile threatened to blind the crew just as much as the flash had as she jumped up and ran over to the people who had been her best friends for seven years. “Capt-Kathryn, we were worried about you,” B’Elanna said, giving Miral to Tom so that she could hug her former captain. “I’m fine. Q Jr. brought me here in order to ‘help a worthy cause’. But maybe I should introduce everybody first.” “Yes,” Harper muttered, practically drooling as he looked at the tall blond in the tight-fitting catsuit. “Please do.” “Captain Dylan Hunt, Beka Valentine, Harper, Rev, Tyr Anasazi, Rommie... These are my former crew members; Tuvok, Tom and B’Elanna Paris, along with their daughter Miral, Seven of Nine, the Doctor, Harry Kim and Chakotay.” Kathryn tried to desperately ignore Chakotay trying to catch her gaze. “Nice to meet you,” Dylan said, his face a perfect mask of hospitality. “Welcome aboard the Andromeda Ascendant.” Once again, he turned his gaze to Kathryn and most of the others noticed a flash of jealousy darken Chakotay’s features at the look he saw in Dylan’s blue eyes. “Perhaps you should explain where here is and why they’re here.” “Yes, that could help.” As Kathryn turned to explain things to her friends, Dylan whispered to Rommie, “They don’t have any weapons, do they?” “None, at least not if they’re similar to the one that Kathryn brought here.” “Good. I don’t want them taking over the ship.” Dylan half-smiled, as if he were trying to appear as if he were joking, but Rommie could tell the difference. “I don’t believe they will. Two of them appear disinterested, one is acting like Harper usually acts, the couple are just interested in Kathryn’s well-being, one is made of energy and the last one, well, I can’t describe how he’s acting.” “Jealous. He likes Kathryn and he doesn’t like that she’s been out of his site with three potential rivals for her affection.” “Oh.” Rommie leaned in a little closer to say, “In case you’re wondering they’re not talking about anything they wouldn’t say in front of us.” “Good. At least we know that they’re not planning an immediate mutiny.” “You’re starting to sound like Tyr.” “I know. And to tell the truth, that scares me.” |
