TRADING RULES

IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO OFFER IN TRADE ...
If you've checked my want list and have nothing to offer in trade, we can still work something out. There are plenty of albums that are available at your local record store that I haven't had the time (or money) to buy yet. I often have a trader buy me a CD (or order it online) and have it sent to my address in exchange for some of my stuff. I like this way of trading because I don't have to spend actual cash and someone is purchasing the actual album, thus supporting the artists.

EVEN TRADES (one-for-one)
When doing any kind of trade, the exchange should be as fair as possible. This is what I usually offer:

  • 1 CD-R for 1 CD-R
  • 2 CD-R's for 1 original CD (new, used, from a CD store, purchased online -- doesn't matter to me)
  • 2 CD-R's for 1 burned DVD
  • 3 CD-R's for 1 original DVD (new or used)
  • 3-5 CD-R's for 1 PLAYSTATION 2 game (new or used, but depending on which one)
And keep in mind a lot of my stuff for trade are 2-CD sets -- so they count as two cd's in a trade, not one.

FORMATS (CD-R, cassette, etc.)
I trade CD-R's primarily. I don't wish to deal with cassettes unless that is the only option. I'm not a huge collector of vinyl either. I'm really not concerned with getting the "Limited Edition First Pressing Olive-Green Color Gatefold" of any band. But again, if vinyl or cassette are all you have to offer -- we can work something out.

Almost anything in my collection can be recorded onto CD-R, with the exception of some of the less-important records or cassettes .. it just takes too long to convert and burn them onto CD-R.

CD-R BURNING
I do not like those forced 2-second gaps between songs on CD-Rs. If you burn CD-R's for me, please do it "disc-at-once", or at least tell me if there's 2-second gaps between tracks. I will do the same.

MP3's
I try to stay away from MP3's as much as possible! The ones that have a bit-rate of 160 or higher come very close to CD-quality, but are still not CD-quality. Please warn me if you are sending stuff sourced from MP3's. And if they sound at all crappy, I do not want them. About 95% of the stuff I have up for trade comes from the original CD's, cassettes, or vinyl. Nonetheless, there are songs on some of my CD's that I had no possible way of obtaining the originals -- and in those instances the original sources are MP3's. All in all, I try to avoid them as much as possible.

COVERS, INSERTS, & TRACKLISTINGS
If you send me something, at least give me the tracklistings -- I'd like to know what I'm listening to. As far as scanning the artwork and covers goes, I'll do it if you request for it -- and I'd expect you to do the same. But usually I'm fine with just non-labeled CD-R's in sleeves and you can email me the tracklistings or something. I have plenty of jewel cases here and I usually end up creating my own cover art anyway.

SELLING STUFF
I'm not a BOOTLEGGER! I will not sell a CD-R copy of anything on my list. Especially if it's something that can easily be purchased at your local record store. For example, don't ask me if you can buy a CD-R copy of the new GREEN DAY album -- go buy it at a store! Let's not screw the bands out of money.

I do have some used CD's and some vinyl that I am selling though, which can be viewed here.

DISCLAIMER
I do not want to do anything unlawful or get anyone in trouble!! If anyone thinks what I'm doing is illegal and/or knows something I don't - please let me know and I will stop.
