Ken's Pictures
I wanted everyone to get a feel for the warmth and happiness of my experiences in Taiwan.  One day, getting very bored of my 1 bedroom apartment in Taipei, I decided that I needed to really get out of town.  I didn't have a car or a scooter.  So, I decided to take the local subway system to a small "beach" town in Taipei.  The city is called Dian Suay (please forgive me if I butcher the romanization of chinese).  Here is my visit as I saw it...
Welcome to Dian Suay... about 10 steps out of the subway station, this is what I saw.  I would like to note that the empty space right in front of this picture is actually gated off.  So, if it weren't gated off, it would have been filled with the same hoard of people up ahead.
Eventhough it was immensely crowded, I actually got to see something other than the Taipei cement jungle.  Here is the nicest view there.  Please try hard to ignore the heap of refuse and the person directly in front of me whose head I was trying to cut-off in this picture, but decided to start jumping up and down when I actually clicked the digital shutter.  And, try and admire the serene scenery.  If you ignore the heat, the humidity, the people next to me who wanted my camera angle, the heavy scent of incinerated waste, the motorcycle exhaust, and some other similar not so important things, I almost felt like I was back at home in the Bay Area.
