Eurotia is a Fantasy of mine. A continent on a faraway planet with its own people, nations, geography and history. It is rife with intrigue and politics. It is a place, like our own planet, with stretches of peace and long wars. It has tyrants and dictators but it also has kings and heroes. Some of the best stories I (and my friends) have told in this place deal with the stories of such heroes.
We use a game system called Dungeons and Dragons (Edition 3.5) to tell these stories. I gather together my friends around the kitchen table to help me tell a compelling story and they are the primary actors. They play the heroes (most of the time).
I play everyone else. I play the commoner in the street. I play the fair elven princess. I play the evil tyrant of a warlike nation. I play the Orcs, Trolls and Dragons, too.
I know the people of this land. I know their religions. I know their day to day struggles. And I know their history. But I don't know their future. That is for my friends and I to determine. Its all up to us to find out what happens. And that is why it is so compelling.
