Bridget Jones's Diary
is my favorite book.

So as a wannabe reference librarian, I thought I'd gather, annotate, and link all sorts of information relating to Bridget and her world. Nerdy? Definitely. Obsessive? Perhaps. Fun? V.

Welcome to Reading Bridget

Now, I'm not saying it's a hard book to understand. But it's definitely from the other side of the pond. So unless you're a v g anglophile, there are some cultural references that might pass you by. So let's sort out some of these interesting details, shall we?

So far I'm working on four types of cultural bits and bobs from Bridget Jones's Diary and The Edge of Reason: places, things (including all that yummy food), people, and British English language differences. You can find link to all of these sections on the navigation bar above. I promise to put it on every page. No frames though - I'm not that good at HTML.

Each entry is in bold and is followed by the date of the entry in which it is found (or the first entry, if it's used multiple times).

Eventually I'd like to add all sorts of Bridget-related links: reviews of the books and film, maps of London, tips for safe travel in Thailand, etc. Not, however, to the point of enabling one to live Bridget's life online. That would just be spooky. Think resources, not instructions.

Comments? Suggestions? Send 'em in! (Please bear in mind that I'm new at HTML and web design, so I'm already aware that this site is not slick.)
