Get to Know Jesus

I asked God, "How much do You love me?", "This much", He said, and He stretched out His arms and died.

As my testimony shows, you can be saved no matter what you have done. Christ will accept you and raise you up if you only believe in Him. No sin is too great, no life too awful for Jesus. He will make you into a new person, cleanse you from sin and give you eternal life - its all yours for the asking, a free gift.

So who was Jesus? The Bible tells us just how amazing Jesus is. He is God, creator of everything (John 1:1-2) but He became a man (John 1:14), He voluntarily chose to leave heaven and come to earth. Can you imagine God suddenly forced to put up with being tired, with hunger, with thirst? Jesus chose to do that for a very special reason.

You see, God is holy. He doesn't sin, and He won't accept sin in others. He is just, and punishes sin as it deserves. And as the Bible tells us, we have all sinned (Romans 3:23). Sin ranges from things like not worshipping God, to lying, stealing or dishonouring your parents. Everyone on earth has transgressed God's law at some point or other, and unforgiven sin leads to only one place - Hell.

God does not want anyone to end up there (2 Peter 3:9) and He loves us. It is precisely because He loves us that Jesus came. Jesus gave a solution to the sin problem that had been separating God and man for so long. Jesus came to earth, taught about how to live and act in the new church, and died. The religious leaders didn't like His teachings and decided to put Him to death even though He had done nothing wrong. Jesus was subjected to an appallingly painful death on a cross - and even then managed to pray for those who murdered Him. That should have been the end of the story, but it wasn't. Three days later Jesus rose from the dead. He had conquered death on our behalf! Now no one needs to die any more. Jesus said that just by believing in Him we could have eternal life - right now! He died on the cross bearing all of our sins, and anulled them in Himself. Jesus willingly bore the penalty for your sin and my sin so that we could live. That is true love.

Jesus made it incredibly easy for us to be forgiven and receive eternal life - we only need believe. There is nothing we can do and no way we can buy redemption - it is a matter only of faith. God will do the rest by grace.

The Bible is very clear about this - we won't be eternally punished by bad karma until we work our way to the top but we can get rid of all that right now. There is no use putting it off until your next life - because the Bible teaches there is no next life - And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27)

God loves you and wants you to live - won't you accept His free gift today?

Here you can read the Bible passages which tell us about salvation:

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:14-16)

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. (John 11:25-26a)
Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:30b-31)

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved...Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 2:21, 4:12)
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)
