Illinois Bans Tongue Splitting
Illinois has outlawed "tongue splitting," a procedure to give the tongue a reptile appearance unless performed by a licensed physician or dentist and only if it is needed for an individual.
According to doctors, tongue splitting can be a dangerous procedure because it could hit an artery or vein and cause some serious damage especially if the surgeon is unskilled.
The law passed through Illinois' House of Representatives with a unanimous 112-0 vote.
So for those of you in Illinois who want to be a snake must go to another state to have the procedure done. Will this stop those in the state from getting it done? We think and hope that it doesn't.
