need help wallpapering?
If you are having problems downloading, or don't know how
- right-click on the link of the wallpaper you want
- if you are using Netscape, select "Save link as..."
- if you are using Explorer, select "Save target as..."
- save the file on your hard drive, remembering where you put it and the filename you gave it
If you don't know how to change your wallpaper
- right-click on the center of your desktop (not where an icon is, somewhere blank on your desktop)
- select "Properties" - this goes to Display Properties within the Control Panel
- "Browse" your hard drive and locate the desired bitmap file
- click "OK" - this will place the bitmap file in the center of your desktop, with a black background
- OR left-click the "Start" button
- open the Settings folder, and select Control Panel
- left-click on the "Display" icon
- "Browse" as above...
- OR left-click on the "My Computer" icon
- left-click on the "Control Panel" icon
- left-click on the "Display" icon
- "Browse" as above...
If you want the bitmap to fill the whole desktop
- select "Tile" instead of "Center" on the Display Properties page
- personally, I don't like doing this because it makes the icons on the desktop hard to read, but some people want the full effect of the wallpapering
- I prefer to center the bitmap on the desktop, so I can stick my icons to the left and right of the bitmap, and everything is still easy to read - try it!
