the end-of-term party

In October 2000, I started to teach a Listening Class at Hakozaki as part of Kyushu University's new Communication Course. The students in this class were keen, intelligent and friendly, and I was very pleased to find that many of them chose to take my courses in the following semester.

A few weeks before the end of the semester, I was invited by one of the students [Ms. Itoh] to join the class for an end-of-semester party, and I was delighted to be able to accept. At the end of the final class, then, most of us went for a meal near the campus.

During the meal, the class gave me a lovely picture frame and a beautiful card which they'd all signed, both of which will always remind me of a great evening and an excellent group of people.

Some photos from the evening are on this page; others will follow soon.
