frequently asked questions

[actually, no-one's asked any of these questions yet, but you never know...]

Who are you?

I'm Alastair Horne, currently [but not for very much longer] Visiting Lecturer in English at Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan.

What's a weblog?

A weblog is either:
[a] a collection of links to interesting sites on the web, updated daily
or
[b] a personal diary or journal published on-line, also updated daily.

[to find out more, click here or here.]

Which kind is this?

Oh, it's both and neither. It was initially intended as a record of my last few weeks in Japan, with descriptions and photos of interesting things I'd seen and done, along with explanatory links. Now, however, I'm now down to my last fortnight or so and I've still not said half of what I want to say, so it might be continuing for a while after that. It depends on a lot of things: whether anyone reads it, whether I feel I've got anything to say, and so on. I'm also feeling a little cramped by my decision to focus exclusively on Japan, so I'll probably branch out a little more when I return to the U.K.
