Tribunal-continuation

With Mustafa Atef's confession thrown out, Mac and Harm decide they need to try and find a witness who would be able to identify Mustafa Atef as being Mohandes. They decide to go and ask the Captain for permission to go ashore to try and find such a witness. When they locate the Captain, he is in a meeting with Webb and Bud. It turns out that Webb also wants to go ashore to look for Mustafa's brother, Kabir. Kabir is believed to be a top Al Qaeda intelligence operative with information about the possibility of an upcoming attack. There's a cute scene here where Harm, in true Harm fashion, automatically thinks he'll be the one to go ashore with Webb. Bud points out that Mac knows Farsi so she is better qualified to go with Webb. Reluctantly Harm sees Bud's point. At the detention camp in Afghanistan, Mac and Webb meet up with Gunny. We find out that Gunny has been working with special ops in Afghanistan, but he won't confirm that to Mac when she makes a comment that it looks like he's dressed for special ops. Webb asks Gunny to take them to see General Abdullah, who seems to be the one in charge of the camp. After greeting the General, Webb asks him if Kabir Atef is one of the prisoners at the camp. The General tells Webb he wouldn't be able to identify Kabir and arranges for Mac and Webb to interview the prisoners the next morning. The next morning all the prisoners are brought out into the courtyard so Mac and Webb can interview them and find out if any of them have seen Kabir Atef or can identify Mustafa Atef as Mohandes. One of the prisoners grabs Mac and holds a knife to her throat and demands to be released. Webb tells the General and the other solders guarding the prisoners to put down their weapons. He then gives Mac a signal and she proceeds to attack and over power the prisoner holding her, freeing herself. Webb tells Mac that he knew if he made it look like the prisoner holding her was getting what he wanted, the guy would relax and give Mac the opening she needed to make her move and escape. I loved the fact that Webb and Mac seem to know each other well enough that Mac understood what Webb was up to and that this plan of Webb's worked. Back at the trial aboard the Seahawk, Mustafa Atef testifies that he is indeed Mohandes and confesses to helping plan and being involved with picking and training those directly involved in the September 11 attacks. He is found guilty and is sentenced to death. Mac and Webb show up back on the Seahawk and tell Harm that they believe Mustafa Atef is behind another Al Qaeda attack being planned which also involves Mustafa's brother, Kabir. Mustafa Atef's brother Kabin is believed to be in Pakistan and enemy communication is being picked up between Pakistan, Iran and Russia. Webb tells Harm they can't kill Mustafa Atef because they have to find out everything Mustafa knows about this new attack being planned. Unfortunately, before Webb gets a chance to talk to Mustafa Atef he kills himself by slashing his wrists with a pen. They now have to try and find his brother, Kabir, to put a stop to the new attack being planned. This is how the episode ends, and picks up again the following week with the search f or Kabir Atef in the next episode. I enjoyed this episode and found the glimpse it gave us into what might happen if there were military tribunals to be interesting. From some of the articles I've read before Tribunal aired, it sounds like TPTB tried their best to make it as realistic as possible. As a Webb fan, it was great to see Webb getting so much air time and seeing him in something other than his usual three piece suits.
