West Wing

"He did a great job and is playing a pivotal role in the selection of a new
Vice President. Sounded a bit like Webb, too--that same smart mouth was
evident. He really pissed off the White House staff, but one of the guys
on his VP list is going to be named VP instead of the choice of the White
House. This could be a great recurring role for SC."
"All of this West Wing stuff really makes me perk up my interest in politics
again...hm...Haffley's is a campaign I could "get behind"
"Steven steals every scene he is on. Even with a cast like the one on
this show, he still stands out among them all"
"Oh I am going to love this fight between the President and SC's character.
He is so damn good in this show! He can stand up to Martin Sheen with no
problem. SC looked so strong and powerful with that character"
"I hope we get to see a lot of Steven in this show. It is such a quality
show with great writers (too bad we can have some of those at JAG) To
have SC as a regular in this show would be a dream come true!"
"I have never been a fan of this show, but now with SC on, I will watch
every time he shows up"
"SC's one big scene was great, though, wasn't it? I fear, as a Republican,
Haffley's going to get his comeuppance, that's how my dear West Wing works.
The brief fireworks tonight was just a taste of what I hope to see next week."
"I'm hoping for more, and I hope that the chief justice storyline is
finished and they can focus more on the budget and giving us more
Steven face time"
"Anyway, what really struck me seeing that face in that first frame was how
absolutely remote, removed, even dead SC made the eyes. He's playing the role
of a man who despises Bartlett and everything he stands for, and SC is so
complete an actor that he managed to extinguish the light in his own eyes!"
"Absolutely!! Plus he looked so darn yummy! He wears power well!!"
"I think I'd almost like to see this role grow. It offers so much potential.
He could be a real "thorn" in the White House staff's side, among other things"
"I was disappointed there was so little of Haffley, directly, in this
episode. You couldn't miss him, though, as he was talked about throughout,
and seen on news clips in every office in the west wing at virtually every
hour of the day. That was a nice touch, if we weren't going to get to see
him more."
"I was disappointed he wasn't in more of the show too. It's not a bad
show but I only watched for him and I sat thru over 45 minutes wondering
if he was actually going to make a real appearance. The previews for next
week look pretty good though. It looks like he will have a bigger part next
week"
"This could be a great recurring role for SC."
"We do so appreciate your hairstylist returning THE LOCK OF HAIR to Mr. Culp's
forehead for his portrayal of Rep. Haffley. We love Mr. Culp's hair no matter
what rinse you put on it. It has been medium brown, almost black, sun-streaked
brown, and last night, it did appear to be a rich, dark chocolate. It looks
very tasty!"
"That scene with Bartlet and Haffley could have gone on forever. I love two
great actors going at it like that. We're lucky that we get to see this sort
of thing a lot on The West Wing. And I loved how they both managed to save
face"
"the fact that Haffley and Bartlet came to an agreement really does bode well
for a SC return. Oh happy day."
"SC does Republican well: he's the hottest Republican I've EVER seen!"
"Somebody in Hollywood needs to wake up and give Steven his own show. The
scene in the Oval Office was beautiful, with two master actors just feeding
off each other. And the scene in the Republican War Room reminded me a lot
of SC as Bobby Kennedy in "13 Days", during the EXCOM scenes where Bobby
(SC) is practically frothing at the mouth, shouting "No, no, no!!!"
I hope they do have him back on TWW again, but they could have Steven
read the telephone book and I'd pay to see it"
"SC struck me as a rather young choice for Speaker of the House, but he
certainly filled the role!
"I want to see him in more shows with good scripts. This one was good.
And yes, it's time for his own show or film."
"That goes for Jeff Haffley, the character, and for Steven Culp as a
consummate actor"
"I know we'd love him on his own series, but it is these guest roles
like Clayton Webb, Brad Manning, and Jeff Haffley (and Major Hayes if
they'd let him SPEAK!)that show the breadth of his characterizations.
Beggars can't be choosers, and I'll beg for ANY bit of his acting we can get!"
"His youthful appearance did not detract at all from the performance last
night. He really did look gorgeous. I loved that little laugh as they're
walking down the hall, after the Senate majority leader says, "The cover
of 'Time'?" It was a great touch."
"As Josh said, "He's better than anything we've seen on that side of the
table in a long time." Brings to mind any of the classic actors whose
careers have spanned many decades and are no longer with us. But we
have SC in our decades, Thanks to the Master Planner!"
"Great scenes! Great writing! Incredible acting by SC!!!! What can we say
about our wonderful Steven but WOW!!!! Way to go!!! As usual he was amazing!"
"Yes, he really held his own with Martin Sheen! And weren't some of his
scenes reminiscent of his role in Thirteen Days? And he had great material!"
"Bravo. He was absolutely tremendous on the Wing last night. The scene in
the Oval Office when he points out to the President that the room was
designed for intimidation and so its working. Great."
"I want a copy of the Time magazine with his photo on the cover! LOL. WOW!"
