We had two little chicks
Their names were Smo and Moe
We fed them lots of corn
So we could watch them grow

Yellow feathers all around
Down to their tiny feet
They were soft and cuddly
And very very sweet

As they grew bigger day by day
My Mothers thoughts would ponder
Of how she'd tell us little folks
So that we would not wonder

What would happen to them later
As they disappeared one day
Were they served for dinner
Opps! No one would ever say
