The reflection looking back at me
Like a page out of the past
A picture of my childhood days
Mirrored through the looking glass
A mothers young and tender touch
Her child before her stands
Saying child please listen to me
As she stretched out her hand
Many changes life will bring
In all so many ways
I hope you'll take note of this
For guidance every day
Always be kind to others
Be true as you can be
Reaching out to help them
In their time of need
My dear remember these words
And life without a doubt
Will embellish you with all your dreams
And the plans that you've sought out
I'll be there to see you through
On me you can depend
From that moment on I knew
My mother was my best friend
