Hello |
PENNSIC XXXIV Cooper's Lake Campground, Slippery Rock, PA. August 5-21, 2005 |
Pennsic 34.... what a weird way to spend two hot weeks in August! This is my collection of photos from the Pennsic Wars. Before you get all confused, let me explain to those who are unfamiliar with the whole thing. Pennsic is an annual event, at which upwards of 11,000 people from all around the world come and act out a medeival/Rennaissance war camp/villages/marketplace. Many, though not all, of the people who come are members of the SCA (Society for Creative Anacronysm). Everyone there shares an interest in medeival and rennaissance Europe and Asia. There is a huge feild battle, a sprawling marketplace, food, camps and parties. For 2 whole weeks there is a temporary medeival village in the middle of Pennsylvania, complete with it's own Postal "cancel" stamp. You can go to learn about medeival cultures, food, dances, you can take classes in mead makeing, embroidery, dance, fencing, whatever you can imagine. Also, there are huge parties. every night. all over the place. What did I do while I was there? |
Party all night? No! (well, not EVERY NIGHT)... Dion and I camp with Casa Bardicci, which is a story in and of itself. I couldn't possibly explain it all here, but suffice it to say that the Casa is something of a Production, and everyone there puts a lot of effort into making it a good show. There is so much that I didn't get pictures of! But here are a few things, and hopefully it will entertain the other members of the Bardicci household! |
