Tampa Bay Fern Club
Meetings
Meetings are usually held on the fourth
Thursday of each month (except November
and December, see below) at the
Seminole Garden Center, 5800 Central Avenue in Tampa, Florida.
Meetings are open to all interested persons (except for the December
meeting, see below.)
The doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the meeting
starts at 7:30 p.m. sharp.
The format of the meeting (except for the Fern
Auction meeting in May and the December
meeting, see below) includes:
- Fern identification - Bring in your
un-identified fern and we will try to attach the proper name to
it.
- Show-and-Tell - Bring in that 'special'
fern to share with other members.
- Fern Education - A short educational
program on some aspect of fern growing, culture, etc.
- Main Program - Usually a guest
speaker.
- Break
- Business Meeting - Our monthly business
meeting.
The club library is open for inspection and
check-out of books only during the meeting.
November and December
meetings would conflict with the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays
if held on the fourth Thursday of the month, so we hold these two
meetings earlier in the month. The November 2002 meeting will be held
on Wednesday, November 20th.
The December meeting
is a dinner meeting for members and their guests only. This meeting
is not open to the public. The December 2002 meeting will be held on
Wednesday, December 18th.
