When I first started writing you in June of '97, I had no idea it would ever lead to this, but I did know that I had found a strong friendship.  When my relationship with Liz ended in August, I needed a friend more than anything.  I needed to know that I was still cared for and you showed me that.  You showed me that there were better things out there.  You cared for me when you didn't have to and showed me that there were still good people out there. It didn't take very long for me to have deeper and deeper feelings for you.  At the time, you were with Mike and appeared happy with him.  I wasn't going to interfere in that.  I was always taught that you don't go after another man's woman.  What I could do was let you know that I cared about you and become as close of a friend as I could and wait.  Wait for an opening.  I already loved you, I just couldn't show it yet.  In December that opening came, I knew you weren't happy with Mike and I knew that if I was to take a chance, now was the time to do it. December 30, 1997 will always be a special day for me.  That was the first day I met you and the first time I got to kiss those sweet lips of yours.

   That was the background, now for the present.  Every day my feelings for you grow deeper.  Everytime you say or do something that shows me how much you love me, my heart melts and I know I found the right person.  Sweetheart, we live in a world where the divorce section of the paper is far longer than the anniversary section.  It seems that nobody wants to work anything through.  I don't believe in short lived love.  I will only get married once. "I never make a promise I don't intend to keep so when I say forever forever is what I mean."

     Holly, if you take a look around, you could find better looking men, richer men, and men that are better in bed....well maybe, but no where in this world could you find somebody that loves you or cares about you more than I do.  I'll never be able to take you to exotic places or world cruises, but i'll be able to put my arms around you and kiss you every night.  I hope thats enough.  Our future won't be easy, but with you by my side, there is nothing I can't do. I love you! for how you care about me, your honesty, your sense of humor, the sacrifices that you've made and for everything that you do. The things you do don't go unnoticed. You said it best in your dedication to me.  and I agree with it 110%.  I'm not marrying somebody I can live with.  I'm marrying somebody I can't live without!
